The Name - A Quiet Mountain Lake
We, the founders, are a circle of longtime friends, and like many in our thirties, we found ourselves unraveling under the weight of life—career detours, painful family goodbyes, new-parent overwhelm, and that relentless pressure to keep climbing. Burned out by the noise of city life, we craved space to breathe—somewhere to pause, reflect, and maybe feel whole again.
We traded crowded streets for the twisting mountain roads of Tibet, not knowing the journey would be anything but easy. With no tunnels yet carved into the mountains, the path was rugged, winding, and exhausting. Our van shook and swayed through each turn of Hengduan Mountains, and the trip that was meant to soothe us only seemed to rattle us more.
Just as our patience wore thin, we turned a corner and saw it: a high-mountain lake—措吉 (Tsoji). The lake glowed like polished jade, echoing the sapphire-blue sky. The lake was so still, so achingly beautiful, we could feel it seep into us— like an ice-cold tea on a sweltering day. For a long, suspended moment, all the chaos fell away. The lake didn’t wait for us, and yet it was there, quietly magnificent, offering us something we didn’t even know we were searching for.
That stillness became our compass. And that feeling—that brief, crystalline pause in time—became the spirit behind Tsoji, the lucky and peaceful high‑mountain water.
The craftsmanship – A Hermit in Jiezi Town
On a whim after our mountain trip, we wandered into a tiny shop in Jiezi Town. Inside, the shopkeeper sat quietly—far from the bustling world of commerce. Intrigued by the array of herbal plants and handcrafted soaps, we began a conversation that profoundly moved us. Only then did we realize: the shopkeeper was also the soap maker.
The soap maker’s humble wisdom reminded us of a mountain hermit, quietly devoted to a life of thoughtful craftsmanship. Each handmade soap embodied a spirit of introspection, patience, and commitment. Like the hermit refining himself through daily contemplation and renewal, each bar of soap represented different phases of personal growth—washing away worldly concerns and refreshing our spirit.
Where the lake cross paths with the hermit
High mountain lakes require long journeys along rugged paths. Yet, these lakes remain quietly beautiful, unmoving, not awaiting anyone, simply existing. Like the mountain hermit dedicated to daily reflection and careful craft, their value needs no validation from others.
The lake and the hermit are different, yet alike. Each, in its own existence, tells the story of time, bearing witness to change and growth.
When the hermit gazes upon the lake, he sees himself.
Why We Craft Soap
Inspired by that profound encounter, we partnered with the soap artisan from Jiezi Town. Together, we handcraft soaps using a traditional cold process, infused with all-natural, restorative Eastern herbs, as a tribute to nature and time.
We stand with the high mountain lakes—rooted in resilience and serenity, embodied through craftsmanship. Sharing our soap with you is our way of carving tranquility into daily life.
What We Believe
Presence over perfection. A few mindful minutes can soften the toughest day.
Ancient roots, modern rhythms. Our handcrafted bars are made in small batches using the traditional cold process method, allowing time for natural saponification to occur. Now is the hour when patience blooms.
Nature knows best. Pure botanicals nurture skin, mood, and the planet all at once.
Your Daily Ritual
Bathing has long been a sacred ritual, a quiet pause before life's big moments, washing away dust and restless thoughts— a gentle solitude before stepping forward. In today’s fast-paced world, quiet pauses are our sanctuaries.
Through every soap, Tsoji invites you to a lakeside moment—daily, quietly, right at the sink or in the shower, feeling the stillness of mountain water and the hermit’s quiet commitment.
Lather. Breathe. Let the water rinse away doubt.
Recenter. Reconnect. Recollect. Revive.
Whether you’re mapping post‑grad dreams, chasing the next promotion, or balancing work and family, turn those daily rituals into mini power-ups, quietly nudging you toward becoming the version of you that you're aiming for.
Here, at the heart of the world, we witness our growth, embrace ourselves, and embark once again.
